Risk / CRO Office

The CRO Office is responsible for ensuring ASX Group identifies, analyses and effectively manages the entire range of risks inherent in all its activities while also having direct responsibility to specifically manage clearing related risks.

Enterprise wide risks include strategic, operational, legal/regulatory, financial and business continuity risks that threaten the achievement of its strategies.  These are managed through ASX’s Enterprise Risk Management function and framework.

A significant element of ASX Group’s overall risk profile arises from the clearing risks inherent in the operations of its two central counterparties, ASX Clear and ASX Clear (Futures).  CRO office directly manages these clearing risks, through its Clearing Risk Management and Portfolio Risk Management functions, under a framework designed by its Clearing Risk Policy function.

Finally, the CRO Office includes ASX Group’s Internal Audit function which conducts risk-based reviews of internal controls and procedures across ASX.  The CRO Office is therefore split into the following five groups:

  • Clearing Risk Policy
  • Clearing Risk Management
  • Portfolio Risk Management
  • Enterprise Risk
  • Internal Audit
